Head of Global Distribution & Logistics

R.M.Williams is seeking an experienced Head of Global Distribution & Logistics to lead and optimise its end-to-end distribution, fulfilment and logistics operations across a global network.
Based in Sydney or Adelaide and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a senior leadership role with responsibility for driving operational excellence across warehousing, automation, freight, fulfilment and third-party logistics partnerships.
You’ll bring consistency across regions, strengthen supply chain resilience and build the capability, systems and partnerships required to support R.M.Williams’ continued growth.
Key responsibilities
- Lead distribution, fulfilment and logistics operations across multiple regions and sites
- Drive consistent standards across safety, service, compliance and operational performance
- Oversee inbound and outbound freight, carrier performance and global 3PL partnerships
- Balance service, cost and commercial outcomes across the logistics network
- Partner with Distribution Centre leadership to optimise warehouse automation, WMS and WCS performance, accuracy and data integrity
- Identify and lead continuous improvement and network optimisation opportunities
- Build capability and alignment across multi-site teams and external partners
- Work closely with Retail, Wholesale, Digital, Technology, Product and Commercial teams to deliver shared business outcomes
- Strengthen supply chain resilience through effective planning, forecasting, risk management and scenario readiness
- Establish and govern global operational KPIs and performance reporting
- Lead change across the function and embed a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
What you’ll bring
You’ll be an experienced distribution and logistics leader who is comfortable setting strategy while remaining close enough to operations to understand where improvements can be made.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Significant experience leading complex distribution, logistics and fulfilment operations, ideally across multiple regions or markets
- Strong experience across freight, carrier and 3PL management, including commercial, service and contract governance
- Experience working with WMS, WCS and automated warehouse environments
- A proven track record delivering continuous improvement and network optimisation initiatives
- Strong people leadership experience across multi-site teams
- The ability to coach, develop and support teams through change
- Strong partnership skills across commercial, product and technology functions
- Experience strengthening supply chain resilience through forecasting, planning and risk management
- Confidence defining and managing operational KPIs and translating performance data into action
- A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Lean, Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence qualifications would be highly regarded
